Such machines that are used to mill, like a bench-top, cost a lot of money, even thousands of dollars, though we can achieve many high-quality works with an economical mill.
One of the models of such a machine is used in metal working industry and is named as Atlas CH-10M. It is a small model and is used in industries which are not so big. This small model is made of iron and a column of aluminum in it. It has a bigger Morse taper of about # 3 spindle and is two and a half times heavier than the Sherline mill. It has a power key and a key to control the speed. It is also provided with a Jacobs’s style fling, kept in a fixed position with the support of a 3/8”-16 drawbar bolts.

Well the measure of the movements of the machine comes to about nine inches, four inches, eight and a half inches on the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis respectively. This measure is taken from the top to bottom of the whole setup. The drilling capacity of C1018 which is cold-rolled steel is rated as half inches in the Atlas and is identical for the last phase milling capability, though the face milling capacity in the unchanged stock is one inch. The X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis do comprise of locks to perform on the Gibbs. Rubber accordion boots are provided for the protection of the Y-axis and the Z-axis. The capability to trim a gap of 3/8 inch and 1/8 inch in depth is used by some people to differentiate between machines and a toy. It is capable of making that cut without any difficulty.

The head of this mill is counterbalanced which is not the case in other mills of this size group. It also utilizes a coil, settled comfortably in column extrusion. The head of the coil is connected with the help of a link bar. The columns width is about five inches, along with a slot in it which is about 2.7 inches. It is fixed with the help of 40mm nuts. It can bend 45 degrees both on right and left for slanted drill.
