CNC machines can well be called as industrial robot systems, as they are capable of performing any kind of machining process according to the specially coded programs in G-code notations, inside certain physical restrictions like other robotic systems. The part of the CNC milling machine that does the cutting is called the Tool bit. The Tool bit is held by the Spindle Shaft. The cutter of the CNC milling machine is driven by the Spindle Motor. Before one purchases the milling machine it should be kept in mind to check that the milling machines have all of the above parts in the CNC milling machine, because if any one of the above part is missing, the milling machine will surely not work or even if it works it will give an unwanted end result. Care must also be taken that the CNC Milling machines have an emergency stop button, as this button will automatically stop the machine in an emergency situation when it is pressed. There can be big losses due to human, hardware or software errors if one is unable to stop the CNC immediately to correct the problem.
One should also more watchful about cracks and breaks on the CNC milling tools. The plastic shield purchased to cover the milling machine should be made up of high force polycarbonate plastic.
