What kind of CNC milling machine do I need?
Written by Josh on April 24, 2009 – 7:24 am -I have to work the machine rolls - many of them - about two and half-inch diameter and length of about 8 inches (spec. are quite real close, with spec. Additional finishing and perpendicularity surfaces with dimensions). The material is a ceramic, soft as ceramics go. We begin with a maximum cylinder surdimensionato and now their work in a multi-degrees on a saw ceramic (out of maximum length) and two lathes (one for diameters, another for finishing conclusion), but we & # 039 to the machine, the d Gradica make the whole process in a machine. I think we can do it with a CNC mill, but I don 't know enough about them to know what to look for in a machine. Can someone speak of opinion?

You can do everything on a simple 2 axis that blocks the lathe spindle CNC. Don 't use of a rolling mill, you won' t get the finish or cylindricity surface that you want. Use only working tools with diamond or borazon and you 're good to go. If your tolerance or really close, you might want to just go with how Centerless grinding process finshing, but that 's another story.
