Scientist’s Thoughts on the Future

Written by Josh on October 20, 2008 – 4:34 am -

It has been said by a famous personality like Neil Gershenfeld who is a physicist as well as computer scientist and is the in charge of the laboratory of Bit and Atom located at MIT that in future a day will come when we won’t need any manufacturers to produce our goods. According to him we can manufacture a toaster by just downloading the description of it in to the computers and by just supplying the design and also the raw materials inside a private fabricator we will get the toaster which we design ourselves today. Gershenfeld’s book Fab: Personal Fabrication says that in future fabrication laboratories will be just like Personal Computer and will be the technology that all people will have. All these words from him might just be sounding... more

Fab Labs

Written by Josh on October 20, 2008 – 4:34 am -

The Fab laboratories so far consists of high technology equipments and goods, together with cutters which is mainly a laser and a vinyl cutter which is usually used for creating signs but is utilized in the labs for cutting copper used in circuits, and a 3-Dimensional mill machine to construct circuits boards, all associated with computers that runs on Linux and are laden with designs and developed software, more often than not used for teaching kids about technology, also to allow them to have fun and discover, and also to provide adults with a place where they can look around for some new designs for commercial purpose. All these cost about $25,000. Though the labs have so many effects yet they are capable of being much more than what they... more

Features of High Speed Milling Machine

Written by Josh on October 20, 2008 – 4:34 am -

High tempo milling is a confirmed specification having low slicing forces and with a very elevated metal exclusion. The procedure that can be used for combining speeds of the spindle with improved supply rates is the high speed milling utilized by the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling production. The superior face excellence and nearer tolerances are formed because of the high chip-forming rate and lesser milling forces. The electronics are the one that formulate the distinction in high speed milling. A slower mechanism can be turned into a faster form than a mechanism of higher top supply rate by coupling the right CNC (Computer Numerical Control) with other elements of the control system. There is a lot of advantage in using high tempo... more

Advantages of the High Speed Milling Machines

Written by Josh on October 20, 2008 – 4:33 am -

A Computer Numerical Control milling mechanism having a superior structural firmness has a better acceleration tempo. Bridge and Gantry is the box fashioned express CNC mechanism and is the most commonly used express CNC machine tools. Among all the express CNC tools, the highest firmness, acceleration and precision are showed by the overhead type Gantry. This mechanism is obtainable in a range of sizes from small to large to equal the work portion because of its scalability skill. The main advantage of the high speed CNC machine is its capability to complete one assignment faster and allows moving along with the next earlier, which makes the work production superior and also saves time. In drilling as well as in beating, this can result to... more

Structure and Features of Micro Mill

Written by Josh on October 20, 2008 – 4:33 am -

Most of the work that we do today requires milling machines .Therefore we always look for a machine with higher percentage of efficiency .The Micro Mill is such a machine which not only have high efficiency but is also very rigid and accurate because it uses most superior techniques in comparison to others milling machines .Like all other substances in the world, the Micro Mill is also a 3-dimensional figure. The X-axis consists of a tapered Gibb, the Y-axis consists of square steel pack ways and the Z-axis slides with the X and the Y axes. To give it very solid feel two half inch steel tube of square shape is used to support the Y-axis and the Z-axis. To make the mill more helpful without increasing its cost TAIG provides extra motorized features.... more

Designing the Milling Machine

Written by Josh on October 20, 2008 – 4:32 am -

The supply shaft should be extended by an additional couple or two inches so that the room is suitable for the drive unit. To achieve this most important bevel wheel should be held by it and should be very well connected to the supply shaft so that the drive is formed utilizing the pinion. The objective of the pinion is to be capable of altering route and it can be achieved by an acrobat gear instrument with the help of the older drilled gears. The outer joints along with the gears should than be able to connect and disconnect bevel wheel with it. This is only possible by tilting the pinion congregation with reference to hinged end, thus it makes the pinion to be in gear along with the sloping surface at the edge in the closed position. To enable... more
